Want to talk travel? You’ll want to attend Cruise Planners’ Travel Friends Holiday Social in Hiawatha on December 10. The event, including a Hot Chocolate Bar, lasts from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the travel agent’s office, 719 Oregon St. No pre-registration is required.
“If you are looking forward to making new friends and learning about the trips we’ve planned, the Holiday Social is the place to be,” Jen Hoschouer of Cruise Planners said.
Best-selling travel authors Sara Broers of TravelwithSara.com and Roxie Yonkey of RoxieontheRoad.com will chat with guests. They wrote their states’ chapters in the award-winning books Midwest Road Trip Adventures and Midwest State Park Adventures. The authors will have autographed books available for purchase.
Broers wrote the books 100 Things to Do in Iowa Before You Die and Perfect Day Iowa. Her next book, Unique Eats and Eateries in Iowa, explores the state’s most fascinating restaurants. She is also the Midwest Travel Network’s co-owner and an experienced cruiser. Broers is a reference for those interested in snow birding as well. She and her husband spend parts of each winter in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Yonkey wrote 100 Things to Do in Kansas Before You Die, Secret Kansas, and Historic Kansas Roadsides. Her next book is Amazing Kansas, featuring famous Kansans and the state’s quirky world record objects.
